It's great to be from Alabama!

On Monday, March 2nd, students all across America celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss.  The theme for this year's celebration was "It's great to be from Alabama."  The state of Alabama was the focus during the week prior to the celebration.  The older students were asked to write essays on the topic.  The younger students enjoyed learning about famous people from Alabama and famous landmarks in our great state.

K-3 students gathered in the library at 8:20 to hear Rick of the famous radio duo, Rick & Bubba, read green eggs and ham.  Since Rick could not be at every school to read, they came up with the idea to read the book on the air, therefore, claiming the title of the largest classroom in the world.

Guest readers were also invited to read to the elementary classes throughout the morning.  This is always a fun time for the students
